2024 Recap & Highlights

Every year, I recap my year in a blog post here. It's one of my favorite ways to reflect on my life annually and acknowledge how fortunate I am to have so much fun, health, love, and happiness in my life. Especially as I've (sadly) been writing fewer and fewer actual blog posts in recent years, it's nice to really sit down and think for a bit and write out a proper recap of my year.

2024 was a great year; the crux definitely being moving in with Joe after 3 years of long distance, and moving out of my first apartment in NYC (which one was the bigger deal?! lol ;). I traveled a bit less than I did in 2023, but still had my fair share of trips with friends, fun in the city, and lots of lake weekends this summer which was SO fun! I also feel like 2024 was a great year of strength for me in a physical sense; I got back into running, and started going to Solidcore regularly. From a work perspective, I was challenged this year on three different client projects, which was an interesting and exciting shift from previous years at work where I was primarily on long-term projects. I work in consulting, so getting to experience a few different clients, challenges, and ways of working this year was a great learning experience and growth opportunity for me. I am so proud to share that I was promoted again at work and I am loving my job more than ever! I am incredibly grateful for my job and I continue to feel so lucky regarding my work situation.

With those major themes covered, let's dive into the highlights of my year!

JANUARY

- Began apartment hunting with Joe

- Girls' ski weekend in Vermont

FEBRUARY

- Threw one final party in my old apartment for galentine's

- Moved in with Joe & celebrated four years of dating on Leap Day!

MARCH

- Girls' ski weekend in Park City!

- Hosted Easter brunch, our first time hosting in our new apartment

APRIL

- Visited the Bahamas for the first time with my aunt & my dad

- Annual Chicago weekend to celebrate my best friend Elizabeth's birthday 

MAY

- Weekend trip to Boston with Joe to see the Avett Brothers in concert

- Discovered we have rooftop access at our apartment!!! Lol, I was SO excited about this

JUNE

- Traveled out to LA to celebrate my friend Sammy's wedding!!

- Girls' trip to the Finger Lakes for a lake weekend!

JULY

- Spent the Fourth of July in North Carolina with my mom, brother, and Joe; I hadn't been go karting in years and doing that again was a highlight of the year for sure, haha.

- Celebrated Joe's birthday! We went bowling in times square and it was soo fun.

- Girls' trip to Michigan for a lake weekend! Rode a jet ski for the first time!

- Family trip out to the Hamptons

AUGUST

- Second annual frantucket weekend!!!

- Celebrated my birthday in this fabulous dress

- Girls' trip to Wisconsin for a lake weekend with my besties <3

SEPTEMBER

- Visited my mom in Raleigh for her birthday!

- Saw Sabrina Carpenter in concert

OCTOBER

- The first of my high school friend's got married!! Had such a fun weekend in DC celebrating her and catching up with some of my high school friends whom I hadn't seen in years.

- Went upstate to see the fall foliage with Joe! I'd been wanting to do this ever since I moved to New York and it was incredible. Such an amazing weekend.

- Saw Bleachers in concert at MSG; best concert of the year.

- Third annual autumnal escape to my aunt's house

NOVEMBER

- Completed my first UGC campaign! I created a few videos for a brand I love, which stretched my content creation skills and was also my largest financial win from social media this year.

- My mom and brother visited for Thanksgiving; Joe killed it with the prime rib!

- Saw Kacey Musgraves in concert

DECEMBER

- Headed to Zurich, Switzerland for my first ever work trip! I'd never been to Switzerland before and Zurich was so, so cute at Christmastime, I loved it.

- Fun holiday parties here in the city

- Christmas in Palm Beach with my family!
