On Monday I officially moved out of my Soho apartment! My first apartment in NYC will always hold a special place in my heart; I moved into it sight-unseen after graduating from college and moving out of my house in Wisconsin. My brother drove me from Wisconsin to NYC in U-Haul, a two day trip that resulted in calling my perfect little one-bedroom home for the past three years.
In March of 2021 when I moved, brokers fees were on hold due to covid, and my unit had been on the market for 100+ days. Safe to say, I locked in an incredible price, and the entire time I lived there, I truly felt like the luckiest girl in Manhattan. In fact, a few weeks ago when it was listed back on the market, the listing price asked for almost double what I paid for... just crazy. Besides the price, when I got the apartment, I truly got everything that I wanted at the time: abundant natural light, a true one-bedroom as opposed to a studio, a dishwasher, and a neighborhood that I was beyond excited about. I lived right on Spring St, in my perfect little second-floor walkup, and the past three years will always hold a very, very special place in my heart.
I could go on and on, but I think if you've followed me at all during my time so far in New York, you've been able to tell how much I loved my apartment. When I moved in, I had just completely moved out of my house in Wisconsin where I'd been living alone for about six months prior. It was really a bittersweet time in my life, from completely saying goodbye to the city I grew up in, while saying hello to the city I'd always wanted to move to. Because of that, I put my all into turning my apartment into a true home, and it will always be incredibly special to me....
Anyway, looking ahead now, Joe and I are officially moved into our Flatiron penthouse! That's what we're calling it....... some might call it a fourth-floor walkup, but I prefer "penthouse" :) I am so excited to decorate and bring you all along on the journey of experiencing this new apartment! I am also, of course, very excited to live with Joe and enter a new chapter of our relationship as well.
Thank you for all of the well wishes over this past week and the past couple of months as I've shared this moving experience thus far! I don't say it enough, but this platform is such a cornerstone of who I am; sharing my life on my little corner of the internet brings me such joy. So, thank you for following along, and I'm so excited to keep sharing!
xoxo
I am so excited to see updates on the new apartment and follow along on this new adventure!
