I am so excited to share a full Nantucket recap with all of you! I know this is long overdue, but who's really surprised? I truly had the time of my life on this girls' trip last month. Let's just jump in!
Myself, two of my best friends from home (Coco and Elizabeth), and six of my NYC friends all ventured to Nantucket for a long weekend and couldn't have possibly had more fun! The nine of us were all first-timers to the island and I, for one, was not disappointed. After many visits to Martha's Vineyard and years of reading Elin Hilderbrand's books, I felt like I knew what to expect and was still so wonderstruck. It may just be my favorite place I've ever been!
Warning - there are about 40 photos in this post; it took everything in me not to include 100! Sorry in advance!!
PS: All of my outfits are linked on my IG Highlight (Outfits 3) and my LTK!
Thursday
The nine of us were all on a handful of different flights, but we all made it to the island throughout the afternoon. Three of my girlies, Katie, Emma, Alyssa, and myself, all got in earliest and checked into our Air Bnb before heading into town for lunch at Lemon Press!
We loved our Air Bnb - here is the link! It was a three-bedroom, 1.5-bath house (part of a duplex) and it really didn't feel too small with 9 girls at all! We were about a 15-minute walk into town and a 10-minute walk home from Chicken Box, making it truly a perfect location for girls in their 20s who wanted to go out every night and ventured to town every day! The owner, Ashley, couldn't have been kinder or more flexible. Would completely recommend it!
Lunch at Lemon Press was perfect, too! At first, I wasn't sure I was in the mood for Meditteranean, but the food (and of course, I had a glass of wine!) ended up being so delicious. We met up with a few more friends who all grabbed coffees at Lemon Press (they have coffee & takeaway at the front of the restaurant) and said the coffees were great, too.
We did a bit of shopping before hitting the liquor store (Murray's in town ended up being a great option - the prices were decent and the selection had what we needed) and heading home to get ready for our evening. Throughout the weekend I was working a little bit with Nantucket Magic, and they were kind enough to invite all of us to their summer launch party on our first night on the island. We stopped by, met the Nantucket Magic girls as well as some other fabulous ladies, and enjoyed a couple glasses of rosé!
Afterward, we ventured to the Cru back bar (which was highly recommended by the Nantucket Magic interns) for a Cru-cumber cocktail! We had time to kill before our 8:30 Millie's reservation and this was a really fun spot.
We ended our night at the Box, of course! So much fun.
Friday
Prepare yourselves: we lived 100 lives on Friday. We woke up and started our day with a muffin from Wicked Island Bakery and coffee at Roastd. This was a 10-minute walk from us and the drinks were delicious.
We made our way into town, and again, did a little shopping. Of course, about halfway through our morning, I was starving and picked up a BLT from Born and Bread. Oh my gosh - I think I ate like 6 sandwiches throughout the weekend and this is the one I'm still thinking of. The bread was PERFECTION and the slightly-candied, thick-cut bacon sent it over the top! I had another BLT later in the weekend that didn't even compare.
I saved half my sandwich so I could enjoy a lobster roll out at 167 Raw a few hours later! This food truck is adorable and the lobster roll was one of the best I've ever had. It was just a few minutes walk from Cisco Brewers, so we made our way there after for a drink!
Cheers Katie!!!
We got to Cisco and had planned to spend a rainy afternoon there, but the sun ended up coming out and there wasn't any live music, so we decided to make it a beach day! We quickly made our way to Bartlett's Farm (also walkable from Cisco) for groceries for dinner before heading back to spend the rest of the afternoon at the beach.
We spent our afternoon at Steps Beach which was absolutely gorgeous. All weekend we were blown away by how it said it was only 70 degrees but felt completely warm and beachy. We even got in the ocean, and it was not cold at all! Nantucket is one of those places where the forecast just... doesn't matter. It's never accurate, and throughout the day the weather changed so much.
After a couple hours at Steps Beach, we made our way back to the Air Bnb for dinner at home. Some of the girls were already back and had gotten started on cooking. We had a delicious spread, played games, enjoyed a few cocktails, and ended our night at the Box again!
Saturday
Saturday was a great day. We rented bikes in advance and they were dropped off in our backyard by 10AM. We woke up, got ready, and then went on a super long bike ride out to Sconset! I wasn't part of the planning committee so I had no idea what we were getting ourselves into, but this was literally over an hour and a half bike ride, so I was really happy I actually wore workout clothes instead of trying to make a cute outfit happen.
We arrived in Sconset and it was simply magical. It's on the other end of the island from town and it's absolutely beautiful. It's like a little fairytale town, with rose-covered trellises, shingled cottages, hydrangeas, and seashell driveways galore. It was heaven in my eyes!
We grabbed a lemonade from Sconset Market and then went around the corner to Claudette's for sandwiches. Most of us had the Turkey Salad sandwiches, and they were incredible. It was up there for me on my favorite sandwich of the weekend!
After lunch, we did the Sconset Bluff walk (ran into Wishbone Kitchen!) and continued exploring, before eventually biking back home.
We showered, got dressed, and all headed into town for our Saturday night! We got mudslides and dinner at Nantucket Tavern, which was great. The mudslides were delicious and dinner outside was perfect.
We ended our night going out at the Gaslight, which is also super fun but different from the Box; Chicken Box is divy-er and Gaslight is "nicer," but both have live music and are really, really fun. Our drink of the summer is officially a "partly cloudy:" It's a Dark & Stormy (dark rum + ginger beer) but half ginger beer, half seltzer, so it's less sweet and you can have more of them, hahaha. We completely made this up but I've already made them a few times since and I'm obsessed.
Sunday
Sunday was our "cutest" day. We had so much fun. We woke up and got dressed to head into town, where we got coffees at The Hub and went shopping! We'd really only window shopped on Thursday when we first arrived, so we had a fun morning really shopping and finding some fabulous things.
We ended up getting sandwiches, of course. I had The Other Turkey at Provisions and ok... let's say the BLT at Born and Bread was my #1 sandwich of the weekend, then The Other Turkey (Provisions) and Turkey Salad (Claudette's) were tied for #2. Ugh, I just love sandwiches.
We got ice cream at the Juice Bar (finally!) and eventually had to head back home for an outfit change because we had an afternoon sail to get to! We were doing a sail with Endeavor Sailing, and it was fabulous. The sailboat was beautiful, we brought a speaker and rosé on board, and our 90-minute sail just flew by. I'd highly recommend it!
After sailing we did a little bit more shopping and then did another outfit change because Lemon Press was coming over to cater a clambake for us! Nantucket Magic arranged our clambake and our sail for us, and both were so well done. The clambake food was delicious and such a classic new england meal for our last night.
We all hung out outside after dinner for a while and then ended our night with more ice cream at Juice Bar!
Monday
Before Monday turned into the worst travel day of my life, we had a really nice morning, haha. We shopped in town one last time, I had the Provisions BLT (Born and Bread is closed on Mondays) which was really just ok and nothing to write home about, and one more Mudslide at the Nantucket Tavern.
We eventually made our way to the airport in the afternoon and I'm not going to rehash the whole experience (I've suffered enough), but I will say we waited about 8 hours in the airport before our flight got canceled, checked into a hotel at 2AM (BARELY) and took the ferry and drove home the next day -- terrible, but so worth it for the BEST weekend!!!
