Friday
For dinner on Friday night, we went to Antidote in Williamsburg for some upscale/elevated Chinese! We ordered a lot of things, but our favorites were the spicy pork soup dumplings, the green beans, the eggplant, and the fried rice with seared duck. The vibes were perfect; it was dark and vibey but it wasn't packed, which I appreciated, because it's rare you get great food + a good amount of personal space on a Friday night in Manhattan.
Saturday
Our first stop on Saturday was the Tin Building by Jean Georges, which is an elevated market/food hall in Seaport. It's like a chic, relaxed version of an Eataly, and French instead of Italian. I can't even begin to describe how fabulous it is! We walked around and ultimately decided on T. Brasserie, one of the restaurants on the first floor, for brunch. The decor was impeccable, and the classic French fare was so well done! I loved my Croque Madame.
Our brunch was followed by bopping around and shopping in Brooklyn, particularly Cobble Hill and Fort Greene. Nothing too notable, but there is a cute part-shop, part-coffee shop in Brooklyn Heights/Cobble Hill area called Salter House that was adorable. Very cottage core!
For dinner on Saturday, we headed back to Williamsburg to St. Anselm! It's a steak spot, but not what you think of when you hear "steakhouse," it's a little grungy, it's small and all wooden, and the prices are reasonable! We sat at the chef's counter where we were able to watch them cook and everything was delicious. Of course, the vibes were great, too! Highly recommend.
Sunday & Monday
On Sunday we just grabbed brunch at an easy spot in my neighborhood and took a long walk on the West Side Highway and around the West Village before church.
On Monday, I took my mom to Now or Never for lattes and to Balthazar bakery (pro tip: the bakery is right next to the restaurant to the right on Spring St, and it has some of my favorite pastries in the city! you can just walk right in like a regular bakery; it has its own entrance) for some morning pastries.
I had to work a bit in the morning, and then for lunch, I took my mom to Prince St Pizza for a slice before she departed! Prince St has my favorite square pepperoni slice, but Rubirosa just a block over is my favorite sit-down pizza in the city (their hot honey pie is like the best thing I've ever eaten)
Overall it was a lovely weekend, I'm so glad she came to visit!
