Hi!!!!! I am so excited for today's post to share everything I did last weekend in Palm Beach for my birthday (how was that already a week ago?!). I had such a fun time with my Dad-- he seriously never fails to plan (or lack-thereof... that's what I love so much about our trips) an amazing vacation. Every minute was so perfect that I want to make this an annual trip! In this part of my recap I am going to share everything we did on Saturday and Sunday, and then tomorrow in Part II I will share what we did on my actual birthday!
WARNING: Photo overload! Prepare yourself.
I arrived at the hotel in the early afternoon on Saturday and immediately retreated to the pool for the afternoon in this swimsuit and this hat. My dad's flight was delayed, so I just hung out, got a snack from the Bimini Bar (the poolside bar, that is obviously pink!), and chatted with a few other guests doing the same.
The first thing I noticed upon arrival was just how friendly everyone was! Being from the midwest, I should be used to friendly strangers by now, but this was on another level. Everyone was beyond nice, chatty, friendly, etc... it was so adorable.
Look! They even gave me this cute coffee table book, jelly beans, and wrote a handwritten note for a birthday gift. We felt so special during our entire stay-- no detail went unnoticed.
It goes without saying that the hotel itself could not be cuter. From the pink hallways and palm printed carpeting and wallpaper, to the pink exterior, green pool chairs and umbrellas... everything was perfect. The staff even wore seersucker suits and dresses!
Once my dad arrived we got dressed up for dinner at Buccan. This did not disappoint!! We shared a few of the small plates, including the burrata, octopus, and the red snapper. Everything was delicious. Plus, the atmosphere was so fun. We went for a 9pm dinner on a Saturday night and the whole restaurant was bustling with cool 20-somethings. Everyone was so stylish and the ambiance was just really fun.
I wore a structured black tank top (similar options below), big white floral earrings, this skirt, and these platform espadrilles. Of course, I brought along my new favorite round straw bag too!
On Sunday we went to church at the beautiful St. Edward's, followed by brunch at SurfSide Diner. St. Edward's was really cool because JFK attended mass there once, and they have a plaque in the pew where he sat! I wore a Who What Wear collection dress and we snapped a few photos by the Worth Avenue clocktower after brunch. Such a gorgeous view of the beach just below!
How cute are some of the other dresses in the WWW collection?!
We went back to the hotel after church and brunch for an afternoon at the pool. Of course I needed a photo in the cute pink chair in our suite.
The pool is not only accompanied by the Bimini Bar, but there are little games like cornhole set up off to the side. We snagged Frosé's and played for a while, and of course, I lost. ;)
On this particular day I wore this Katie Kime banana leaf printed bikini top and the matching high-waisted bottoms. SO comfortable and flattering!
On Sunday night we wanted dinner at another spot with a cool atmosphere and discovered the swankiest little place over on West Palm: The Blind Monk. Unlike Buccan, this spot is pretty small, but we loved that! The whole place is pretty dark, and they show black and white movies on a huge screen. It was perfectly aesthetically pleasing. We sat at the wine bar and enjoyed the best charcuterie board I've ever had.
Then we went back and hung out poolside until we were ready for bed! The first two days were amazing-- I would recommend everywhere we went for food and St. Edward's if you're ever looking for a lovely mass on the island.
Check back tomorrow for the full recap of my actual birthday!
xoxo
