This weekend felt so much like spring. 50 degree weather in January in Wisconsin definitely does not go unnoticed! When the weather warms up it always puts me in the mood to make little updates to my decor and give my room an update. When it comes to decorating, even making little changes to a room can give it a refresh. Sometimes all it takes is one or two new pieces! The guest bedroom at my house was looking a little bland and needed some finishing touches to kick it up a notch. Small updates like adding a fun lamp and some throw pillows really spruced up the space!
I love how versatile this lamp is with the clear base. My house is really old, so every room has a radiator in it. This bed would theoretically be up against the wall if it weren't for the radiator in front of the window, so in between the wall and bed is a shorter side table. I thought it made more logical sense to situate a lamp at an appropriate height for the bed, so I added some issues of Vogue and a few coffee table books underneath. How cute, right?
One of the best and easiest ways to add something fun to a rom is by layering throw pillows. I love this striped bow pillow, so I pulled blue and white into the room by adding fuzzy solid colored blue and white pillows behind the stripes.
To enhance the fluffy effect, I added a dog! He makes for some really posh décor don't ya think?! ;)
This rosette grey quilt is neutral but still a little bit fun with the texture. I love that the grey is different from the all-white bedding I am used to seeing!
You can recreate the look easily with these pieces from PB Teen:

Oh, and yes, that is the sweater from yesterday's post! I wasn't kidding when I said it's one of my new favorites :) it's on sale right now for $20 and I couldn't recommend it more.
How do you spruce up a space?
