I had the strangest week. Monday was a horrible day for me; I must've cried at school at least three times. Tuesday, however, was incredible... My team won our biggest field hockey game, putting us in a 3-way tie for first place in conference, and I scored! And then, of course, there was yesterday, which was incredibly eventful.
I applied to college last night. I'm applying to one school, early decision (so I'll have enough time to apply regular if I'm rejected) and I submitted my application yesterday. It's nice being "done", but it's also terrifying to think that if I don't get in, I'll have to almost instantly turn around and submit applications regular decision. Oh, and also yesterday, I received quite a surprising email. If you recall, I hosted a French student last year through the exchange program at my school. This year I am hosting another student, a boy this time, and they were scheduled to arrive tomorrow. Um, we found out yesterday that they're coming today. Not a big deal (just a one day difference), but not the best news in the world.
I love the quote above. It perfectly describes my week... Sometimes you just have to take the risk. I'm excited that I only applied to one school. Yes, I will be crushed if I don't get in, but I'll also feel incredible if I'm accepted and the application process ends for me.
Wish me luck with the Frenchie!

That's so exciting that you're getting another Frenchie! My mom wanted to get a French exchange student, but no one in our house speaks French so I don't really know what she was thinking.
ReplyDeleteAhh college is so exciting! Lucky you that you're only applying to one school! I'm ridiculous and applying to 13 schools right now so I've got quite a lot of applications to complete.
Crossing my fingers that you get in to your dream school Fran!

Congrats on applying to college! Definitely don't wait until your decision comes out to work on other apps though. You'll feel a thousand times better if you turn some other ones in.
ReplyDeleteHosting the student will be so fun! Can't wait to read more about it.
