Hi hi hi!! I am sorry about how delayed this post is, I had so many technical difficults. Better late than never though, right? Since I'm still on winter break I also think it's justifiable that I keep the Christmas vibes going as long as possible... why not! Even though a ton of thought, time, and money are all devoted to the gifts part of Christmas, I really love the whole celebration of the holiday and the days leading up to and following Christmas day. I had a great time in Dallas celebrating Christmas during my four-day trip to Texas, so I wanted to recap that in addition to sharing what I got for Christmas.
I arrived in Dallas two days before Christmas and my dad immediately put me to work on finishing tree decorations, baking cookies on cookies, wrapping presents, running last minute errands and getting groceries, among various other things to get ready before my grandparents arrived on Christmas eve. I spent almost all of the 23rd running around Dallas and all of Christmas Eve baking our family's butterball recipe and gingerbread cookies. I also made our family's recipe for blueberry muffins that we enjoyed on Christmas morning.
We ran to the Highland Park village to do some last minute shopping as well! You'll hear a little more about that in the video but the shopping was fabulous and the stores were all gorgeous.
Every night we made incredible dinners. Our table setting was gorgeous to top them off! On Christmas Eve we had homemade empanadas (my dad's wife is from Argentina so her empanadas literally can not be beat), on Christmas we had filet mignon in some fancy sauce with mushrooms and potatoes, and the day after Christmas we made homemade pasta using our pasta maker for the first time and our family's famous meatballs recipe that I love. I was definitely ready to get back to eating lighter and working out once I got home!
The two days I was in town before heading back to Wisconsin were spent exploring new to me parts of Dallas! We ventured out to the cool, artsy neighborhood of Deep Ellum, we saw the giant Christmas tree and ice skating rink at the Galleria mall, and we showed my grandparents the site where JFK was assassinated. Overall it was a lowkey but really fun and lovely Christmas! I had a great time with my dad and my brother (as always) and loved a chance to see my grandparents, too. They live in Brazil half the year and Brooklyn, NY the other half, so I never know how often I'll get to see them!
Without further adieu, you can watch what I got for Christmas here or below:

As I mentioned in the video, I am not trying to brag at all, I just wanted to share what I got because I love watching other people do similar videos! If you happened to do one too, I'd love to check it out. What was your favorite gift?
