London Recap

The first stop on my European adventure was London, a city I was so excited to visit. British accents are my weakness, and let me tell you... they're a million times better when you're buzzing through a city filled with them! The nicest part about being in each city for just a few days was that we had just enough time to see the highlights of each city, without feeling like we needed to explore every little place in the area. London was probably my favorite destination on the whole trip, so it was a wonderful way to have started our little adventure.

The first day was spent doing some basic sightseeing (think Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, etc) and trying to fight off a jet lag.

Our second day, we spent the morning in Wimbledon, which is a lot more than just a tennis tournament! The charming town on the outskirts of the main city of London was just a short metro ride away and one of the cutest places. Wimbledon holds the award for the best meal on the whole trip; sourdough pizza.

After Wimbledon, we stopped for High Tea at Harrod's. I've done high tea at the Plaza before, and I absolutely love high tea under all circumstances! Something about getting dressed up and enjoying scones and tea is so much fun and always makes for a lovely afternoon.

Our last day, we saw changing of the guard at Buckingham palace and then went to Notting Hill. If you're ever in London and plan to see changing of the guard, you will need to get there a lot early than expected!! We were almost an hour early and could barely see the ceremony.

Notting Hill is an adorable neighborhood with colorful homes and quaint charm. We got amazing smoothies here, too... haha.
